Worthy Brief - 9/26/2016
Friend, uh oh, what happened?
John 4:23-24 But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth."
When Apple released their newest version of their iPhone this month, it reminded me of when we got our very first iPod. Our daughter, Elianna was only two years old at the time, but she loved listening to the worship music on the iPod.
Elianna would love to listen to the iPod while I was listening. She loved to listen with her abba, one earphone in my ear, one in hers, jumping and dancing around, singing along to the wonderful worship. One morning, Elianna reached up and grabbed the earphones off the table and put them on. But to her surprise, there was no music. She took the earphones out, inspected them, and put them back into her ears. Still nothing. Then Elianna looked up at me and said in her cute little two-year-old dialect, "uh oh, wha happen?"
Elianna didn't hear the music because the iPod was charging in the other room and the headphones weren't attached.
This got me thinking. We can never just assume that we will hear the Lord if we're not plugged into Him and His ways. If we want to hear the music of God's way and God's will for our lives, we need to set apart time to get plugged in! Time to read the Word, worship, pray, meditate and listen too!
Friend, let's spend this week getting plugged in as we approach the fall feasts because our Father is looking for those who will worship in spirit and in truth!
Your family in the Lord with much agape love,
George, Baht Rivka, Elianna & Obadiah
