Worthy Brief - 3/21/2025
Friend, it's all about relationship!
Hebrews 4:9-11 There remains therefore a rest for the people of God. For he who has entered His rest has himself also ceased from his works as God did from His. Let us therefore be diligent to enter that rest, lest anyone fall according to the same example of disobedience.
If you’ve ever been to Israel, you know that Shabbat—what we call the Sabbath—is a big deal. It starts Friday at sundown and goes until Saturday at sundown, and let me tell you, the whole country gets ready for it like clockwork. Friday mornings are busy—really busy. The outdoor markets are packed, folks are rushing around grabbing last-minute groceries, cleaning house, cooking meals, and getting everything wrapped up before things shut down. By the time the sun sets, the streets get quiet, the stores close, and life slows down. For the next 24 hours, it’s all about rest.
Now, the Bible tells us there’s a Sabbath rest for God’s people too—not just once a week, but something deeper. It’s not about working to earn salvation—Yeshua (Jesus) already finished that work on the cross. But there is a kind of preparation we still need to do in our hearts. We get ready through worship, through prayer, through soaking in His Word. It’s not about religion—it’s about relationship.
The beautiful thing is, because of Yeshua, we can live in that peace and rest every day. We just have to take time to quiet our souls and enter in. So today, let’s get our hearts ready for the weekend!
Friend, let's slow down, focus on Him, and receive the rest, peace, and joy that only our Messiah can give -- for He is the "Lord of Shabbat!" [Matthew 12:8]
Shabbat Shalom—may His peace be with you! Until Monday ...
Your family in the Lord with much agape love,
George, Baht Rivka, Elianna and Obadiah

New Study Challenges Church Decline Narrative, Suggests Possible Growth in 2025
A new study is pushing back against the common belief that the church in the U.S. is in decline, suggesting it may actually be growing again while making clear it remains relevant even among non-Christians. The Barna State of the Church report, created in partnership with Gloo, reveals that weekly church attendance had largely plateaued in the U.S. since 2017 and stood at 28 percent of U.S. adults in 2024 — yet preliminary data from early 2025 “suggests a potential uptick in weekly church attendance” to approximately 32 percent.
